Our challenge

We are seeking a highly skilled Java Developer with extensive experience in Core Java and open source technologies to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in Java fundamentals, hands-on experience with Java 8 features, and a solid understanding of microservices architecture. Candidate will be responsible for developing robust REST APIs, implementing web services, and working with cloud platforms like AWS.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Tampa, FL/Jersey City, NJ is $100k - $110k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain high-quality Java applications, leveraging Core Java and advanced Java features.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using Java 8 features such as streams, lambdas, and other functional programming constructs.
  • Design, develop, and implement RESTful APIs for microservices architecture.
  • Build and consume web services (SOAP and REST) ensuring security, scalability, and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Work with Data Structures and algorithms to optimize application performance.
  • Utilize Spring Frameworks, especially Spring Boot, for rapid application development.
  • Deploy and manage applications on AWS cloud platform.
  • Contribute to open source projects and stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of Java 8 and above, with hands-on experience in developing Java applications.
  • Thorough understanding of Java fundamentals and object-oriented programming.
  • Experience in developing and consuming REST APIs and Web Services (SOAP/REST).
  • Good knowledge of Data Structures and Algorithms.
  • Proven experience with Spring framework, especially Spring Boot.
  • Experience working with AWS cloud services.
  • Ability to write clean, testable, and efficient code.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred, but not required:

  • Experience with open source tools and frameworks.
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
