Job Title: React Front-End Developer

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced React Front-End Developer to join our team. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining modern, responsive web applications with a focus on performance, usability, and scalability. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in React, strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills, and experience collaborating closely with designers, back-end developers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality user experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain responsive web applications using React.
  • Build reusable, scalable, and maintainable front-end components.
  • Translate UI/UX designs and wireframes into high-quality code.
  • Optimize applications for maximum speed, performance, and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Collaborate with back-end developers to integrate APIs and services.
  • Write clean, well-documented, and testable code.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve front-end issues.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to front-end development standards and best practices.
  • Work closely with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to define and refine requirements.
  • Stay current with emerging front-end technologies and recommend improvements where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, DevOps, and product teams to align project goals.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in front-end web development.
  • Strong hands-on experience with React.js.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and/or TypeScript.
  • Experience with HTML5, CSS3, and modern styling approaches.
  • Experience building responsive and mobile-friendly user interfaces.
  • Familiarity with state management libraries such as Redux, Context API, or similar.
  • Experience consuming and integrating REST APIs and/or GraphQL.
  • Understanding of front-end build tools and package managers such as Webpack, Vite, npm, or yarn.
  • Experience with version control systems, especially Git.
  • Strong understanding of cross-browser compatibility and web performance optimization.
  • Knowledge of testing frameworks such as React Testing Library, or similar.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with SQL and working with relational, hierarchical and/or NoSQL databases.
  • General understanding of the impacts of technology choice to the software development life.
  • Awareness of methods and practices such as Lean/Agile/XP.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Technical expertise in React and JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Experience with UI/UX design principles.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams.

Work Environment

This position involves working in a collaborative and dynamic environment where staying current with emerging front-end technologies is encouraged. The role requires frequent interaction with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to align on project goals. Expect to engage in cross-functional communication with data engineers, DevOps, and product teams. The work involves using modern technologies and tools, and adhering to best practices in software development.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Wilmington, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $46.79 - $46.79/hr.
