Responsibilities

At Publicis Sapient, we build enterprise AI products that actually ship and scale.

As a Senior AI Engineer &ndash Agents & Copilots, you&rsquoll design and build intelligent agentic systems used in real-world enterprise environments&mdashnot demos or experiments. You will work hands-on across the full lifecycle: from architecture and implementation to deployment and optimization of AI agents, copilots, and RAG-powered systems integrated into complex products and platforms.

This role is for builders who thrive in ambiguity, take ownership end to end, and care deeply about engineering quality.

Your Impact

• Design, build, and deploy AI agents and copilots used in production environments.
• Architect agentic systems using modern frameworks (e.g. LangChain/LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, tool-calling architectures).
• Implement RAG and grounding strategies including vector databases, hybrid search, chunking, metadata filtering, and reranking.
• Build secure, scalable backend services integrating LLMs with internal and external tools via APIs.
• Make architectural decisions by evaluating tradeoffs across performance, cost, latency, and reliability.
• Write production-quality code with strong attention to testing, error handling, concurrency, and observability.
• Collaborate with product, design, and non-technical stakeholders, clearly explaining complex AI concepts and influencing decisions.
• Contribute to internal AI platforms, accelerators, and engineering best practices.

Qualifications

Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience building AI agents or copilots in production or advanced prototypes (beyond prompt-only solutions).
• Ability to work independently with high ownership, operating effectively in ambiguous problem spaces.
• Experience with agent orchestration frameworks such as:
  • LangChain / LangGraph
  • Semantic Kernel
  • OpenAI Assistants-style tool calling
  • or comparable agent frameworks
• Solid experience with RAG systems, including vector databases, retrieval strategies, and grounding techniques.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals:
  • API design
  • Data structures
  • Error handling
  • Concurrency
  • Performance optimization
  • Automated testing
• Strong programming skills in Python and/or TypeScript/Node.js.
• Experience integrating with third-party tools and APIs and building secure services (authentication, secrets management, access control).
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.

• Hands-on work with vector databases (e.g. Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS, OpenSearch).
• Experience designing systems for regulated or security-sensitive environments.
• Exposure to cloud-native architectures and CI/CD pipelines.
• Contributions to internal platforms, accelerators, or open-source projects.
• A strong product mindset: you think beyond models to real user and business impact.

Contract Modality: This role is open for permanent positions in Colombia and Mexico, and as a contractor role in Brazil. The project is expected to run for approximately one year, with a strong possibility of extension based on business needs and performance.
