THIS POSITION MAY BE ELIGIBLE FOR A HYBRID WORK SCHEDULE. THE AMOUNT OF TELEWORK IS AT THE DISCRETION OF THE DEPARTMENT AND IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE AS BUSINESS NEEDS ARISE.

Employees are required to report to their headquarters office on their assigned in-office days. Travel expenses to and from the assigned headquarters are the responsibility of the employee.

Are you looking for a fast-paced and challenging position that will provide you with extremely valuable Mainframe Database experience, extensive variety, and frequent exposure to managers and staff in the Information Technology Branch? The Employment Development Department (EDD) is looking for a highly motivated and qualified individual to work in the Mainframe Database Services Group. The Information Technology Specialist I will provide database administration support for the Department's relational database management systems within a mainframe environment. This includes working on complex system assignments, planning and coordinating activities across database system areas, and performing duties aligned with the System Engineering domain. The incumbent will support the stability, performance, and reliability of critical database systems by utilizing standard DBA tools to manage and optimize database operations. The role also involves collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders to support business applications, providing technical guidance on database-related issues, and contributing to complex projects and initiatives. Additionally, the incumbent will contribute to a customer-focused IT organization by applying branch cultural principles and offering constructive feedback to enhance team effectiveness and service delivery.

Position exists in Sacramento.

Effective July 1, 2025, specific Bargaining Units and associated Excluded State employees are subject to a salary reduction between 2% - 4.62% in exchange for hours in the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) per month.
