CTG is seeking to fill a Senior Java/AWS Cloud Engineer (with Power BI) position for our client.

Location: Piscataway, NJ

Duration: 12 months

Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Java/AWS Cloud Engineer with strong cloud-native development experience and working knowledge of business intelligence tools to build scalable microservices and enterprise reporting solutions. This role combines backend engineering with data visualization and analytics.

Key Skills: Java (JDK 17), Spring Boot, Microservices, AWS (EC2, EKS, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB), REST APIs, API Security, Kafka/SNS/SQS, Docker, Kubernetes, Power BI, SQL/T-SQL, DAX, CI/CD (Jenkins, GitHub/GitLab), React/Angular

What You’ll Do:

Develop microservices and REST APIs using Java (JDK 17) and Spring Boot

Build event-driven architectures using AWS (SNS, SQS, Kafka)

Design and deploy cloud solutions using AWS services and Kubernetes (EKS)

Implement API security, authentication, and authorization mechanisms

Design and optimize Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions

Write complex SQL, DAX, and Power Query transformations

Contribute to front-end components using React or Angular (as needed)

Implement CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments

Participate in Gen AI initiatives, including proof-of-concepts and implementations

Required Experience:

10+ years in software, cloud, or data engineering

Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture

Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services

Experience building secure APIs and distributed systems

Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools

Hands-on experience with Power BI and strong SQL skills

Nice to Have:

Data analysis background

Experience with R or advanced analytics

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $120,000 to $125,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
