We are seeking a skilled Lead Python Engineer with AWS experience to join a project for our Client, a global leader in investments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers fostering collaboration and peer learning
• Design, develop and maintain scalable applications using Python, FastAPI, Django, PostgreSQL and Docker
• Architect and implement solutions on AWS including S3 buckets, Lambda, AWS AKS and CloudWatch
• Champion test automation practices ensuring robust unit and integration testing for all deliverables
• Drive agile development processes within the team contributing to complex high-stakes projects
• Collaborate effectively with global teams ensuring seamless communication and project alignment
• Participate in system design, database modeling and API development with a focus on microservices architecture
• Lead refactoring and redesign initiatives to enhance critical financial systems ensuring resiliency, compliance and auditability

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with Python (Fast API, Django), PostgreSQL and Docker
• Experience in Tech Lead or Team Lead positions
• Experience with AWS (S3 buckets, Lambda, AWS AKS, CloudWatch)
• Strong commitment to test automation including robust unit and manual integration testing
• Experience working in agile teams on complex high-stakes applications
• Collaborative mindset with a commitment to code reviews and peer learning
• Comfortable working with teams across the globe
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher

Nice to have

• Prior exposure to financial services with domain knowledge in payments, wire transfers, account reconciliations and cash management
• System design expertise across microservices, database modeling and API design
• Experience leading refactoring/redesign initiatives on critical financial systems
• Ability to architect for resiliency, compliance and auditability in Treasury/payment platforms
