About the role

As a Software Engineer in our Developer Experience (DX) organization, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how developers worldwide consume Sinch APIs across multiple programming languages. Your primary focus will be the development and maintenance of Sinch’s Python SDK.

In addition, you will be a core contributor to our SDK generation tooling, which automates the creation of our Java, Node.js, Python and .NET SDKs from OpenAPI specifications.

This is a high-impact, developer-facing platform role where you will help scale SDK development and establish conventions that the entire team relies on.

This role is open to candidates based in Spain, from our offices in Madrid.

Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer, you will:

• Be the primary owner of Sinch’s Python SDK, leading its design, development, and maintenance using modern, user-friendly Python.
• Contribute to our core SDK generation tooling, helping build and scale our SDKs across multiple languages (Java, Node.js, Python, .NET) from OpenAPI specifications.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code with a strong focus on developer experience, robust error handling, and performance.
• Work closely with Developer Experience colleagues to ensure SDK features and consistency meet high standards of quality and usability.
• Partner with the documentation team to create clear, easy-to-read materials enriched with relevant examples.
• Stay current with the latest Python features to drive continuous improvement and innovation in our developer tools.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience in Python development, with a strong understanding of asynchronous programming patterns.
• Proven experience with the complete lifecycle of PyPi package creation, including versioning, and maintenance.
• Experience in SDK or library development, with a passion for creating well-documented, easy-to-use tools for other developers.
• Strong understanding of REST API design and consumption, with a focus on usability and developer experience.
• Knowledge of modern development practices including CI/CD pipelines and release workflows.
• Comfort collaborating across teams and supporting other engineers in adopting new tools or patterns.
• Ability to work effectively in environments with high ambiguity and evolving product definitions.
• Excellent communication skills in English (both written and spoken), with the ability to write clear user documentation and code.
