Our client, a respected manufacturing company specializing in precision metal stampings, welded assemblies, and production components, is seeking a PC-DMIS CMM Programmer & Operator to join their quality team in LaVergne, TN. This is a direct hire, full-time opportunity supporting first shift operations with a 4/40 schedule and optional overtime on Fridays.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on CMM programmer with strong PC-DMIS experience, capable of performing detailed product layouts, gauge calibration, and inspection validation to ensure compliance with customer specifications. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a precision manufacturing environment, collaborating with quality and production teams, and playing a key role in maintaining measurement accuracy and quality standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Must-have qualifications that candidates must meet to be considered.
Experience programming and operating CMM equipment using PC-DMIS software
Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
Experience performing product layouts and dimensional inspection on manufactured components
Experience performing gauge calibration including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and inspection tools
Knowledge of Gage R&R studies, PPAP layouts, and statistical measurement techniques
Advanced Microsoft Office skills for data reporting, documentation, and inspection records
High School Diploma or GED required
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
Nice-to-have skills that would make a candidate more competitive but are not required.
Experience in stamping, welding, or automotive manufacturing environments
Familiarity with CAD/CAM systems used for inspection programming
Experience with STEP file import for CMM programming
Experience performing check fixture calibration and certification
Experience managing calibration systems and measurement equipment schedules
Background supporting tooling layouts and customer buyoff inspections
Experience maintaining master samples and inspection documentation
Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Program and operate CMM equipment using PC-DMIS to inspect production parts and assemblies
Perform product layouts to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and customer specifications
Conduct annual check fixture calibration and layouts for production fixtures, models, and templates
Perform Gage R&R studies and PPAP capability layouts to support quality requirements
Perform gauge calibration on micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other inspection tools
Maintain organized inspection layout files and measurement documentation
Support quality and production teams with root cause analysis and problem solving
Coordinate calibration certification with third-party service providers when required
Physical and Environment Requirements
Physical expectations and working conditions associated with the job may include standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods, using precision measurement equipment, and occasionally lifting up to 25–50 lbs. Work is performed in a manufacturing environment where exposure to machinery, production equipment, and moderate noise levels may occur.
