As part of the WIC Administrative Unit, this position develops and updates Missouri WIC policies, procedures and forms; ensures compliance with USDA-FNS policy memorandums, regulations and guidance; investigates fraud complaints and performs other duties as needed. This fast-paced role will collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders, including federal partners, other state agency staff, local agency staff and participants. The typical schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position is eligible for a flexible schedule, with the expectation that the candidate will be available as needed to meet business requirements. The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.

  • Research, develop, review and revise administrative policies and internal procedures.
  • Organize and track USDA-FNS policy memorandums and provide to WIC state agency staff.
  • Develop and revise administrative forms in accordance with Missouri WIC policies and USDA-FNS guidance.
  • Develop and publicize the annual WIC Income Eligibility Guidelines document based on USDA-FNS policy guidance.
  • Assist with administrative projects.
  • Investigate Missouri WIC participant fraud complaints.
  • Investigate civil rights complaints.
  • Provide technical assistance on administrative policy to WIC local agency and state agency staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Two or more years of professional experience in public health, policy, communications, quality improvement and/or public or business administration.
  • Possess excellent written communication skills, with the ability to interpret and analyze complex regulations and communicate information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Prior experience with the WIC program or other USDA nutrition program is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, is preferred.
