  • Champion effective test data management strategies to enable stable, parallelised, production-like testing.
  • Avoid over-reliance on brittle UI automation by promoting test pyramid best practices.
  • Collaborate with engineering leads to improve system testability and observability.
  • Define measurable quality signals beyond code coverage (e.g. defect escape rate, pipeline stability, release confidence).
  • Lead defect triage with a focus on systemic improvement rather than reactive fixes.
  • Support continuous improvement of delivery performance through quality insights.

What we’re looking for

  • Strong experience leading automation strategy in enterprise environments.
  • Deep understanding of modern test automation principles (test pyramid, contract testing, CI-first design).
  • Hands-on experience with Playwright and performance testing tools such as K6.
  • Experience embedding automation into CI/CD pipelines within Azure DevOps.
  • Demonstrable understanding of DORA metrics and their relationship to engineering practices.
  • Experience designing and managing scalable test data strategies.
  • Experience working within secure or regulated environments.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience implementing quality engineering in cloud-native Azure systems.
  • Exposure to DevOps/DevSecOps practices.
  • Experience reducing pipeline cycle time and improving deployment confidence.
  • Knowledge of observability and production feedback loops.
  • Knowledge of performance tuning and monitoring.
  • Experience working in high-performing cross-functional teams.

Deliverables

  • Automated test suites for functional and performance testing(As applicable).
  • Stable, fast-running pipelines with meaningful feedback.
  • Test execution reports and defect logs. (Azdo and Test Summary Report)
  • Documentation of test strategies and frameworks. (Test Summary Report)
  • Verified quality improvements across releases.
  • Reduced regression effort through well-layered automation.
  • Lower change failure rates and faster incident recovery.
  • Clear, data-driven quality insights influencing delivery decisions.

Personal Attributes

  • Pragmatic and outcome-focused.
  • Comfortable challenging “test everything” thinking.
  • Detail-oriented and methodical
  • Strong communicator with developers and stakeholders
  • Quality-focused and proactive
