In an era of rapid data center growth and volatile energy shifts, we don’t just watch the market—we map its future. As our key Energy Market Analyst, you will be the primary custodian of the models that drive our most critical mid- and long-term investment decisions. You won't just run simulations; you will build the "brain" that navigates the complexities of ERCOT, turning billions of data points into actionable strategies that help build the optimal portfolio of generation assets.
You aren’t just a "user" of software. You will design, program, and refine models using Python or UPLAN/PLEXOS to solve the hardest questions in nodal pricing, congestion, and resource valuation. Your forecasts aren't buried in reports; they are presented directly to senior leadership to inform multi-million dollar deals and long-term asset optimization. You tackle the "unsolved" problems of the grid, from the valuation of long-duration storage to the impact of extreme weather events.
Our ideal candidate would have a strong track record of building production-cost models or nodal power flow models, and obtain the ability to translate 'The Greeks' and shadow prices into a clear, compelling narrative for both technical teams and commercial stakeholders.
