You will be responsible for the full software development lifecycle, from new product releases to continuous deployment, in a team that promotes a DevOps mindset and engineering best practices.

Key Exciting Responsibilities

• Analyse, design, program, and modify robust web-based software applications.
• Drive the full software development lifecycle, including new product releases, upgrades, and defect resolution.
• Write clean, testable code using modern programming languages and perform rigorous testing and debugging.
• Collaborate with QA, Operations, and Product Managers to ensure continuous deployment and fit-for-purpose solutions.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 4 years of professional experience as a software engineer.
• Experience writing backend systems using C# .Net, SQL, ReST, or GraphQL.
• Demonstrated experience maintaining a high bar for code quality, testing, and automation.
• Ability to analyze complex business processes and write clear technical specifications.
• Experience with Cloud-hosted applications, ideally Microsoft Azure, and a strong DevOps mindset.

Bonus Points For

• Experience with Event Based systems (e.g., Kafka, EventStoreDB).
• Familiarity with JavaScript and frontend technologies like Angular or React.

This role could be based at either Trimble’s NZ headquarters in Christchurch, New Zealand (handily located on the Little River Link Cycleway), where you will enjoy free parking, securely covered bike sheds, table tennis, an onsite gym, showers, an active social club, and a great team environment where people love working with leading technology solutions, or you could work from our Trimble Wellington office in the downtown area, close to Cuba Street Mall, home to up to 20 Trimble employees, where you will enjoy views out over Wellington harbour, a collaborative team space, free fruit and coffee, and a great environment where people love working with leading technology solutions.
