Pay range is $27.346 - $40.311 per hour. The pay rate may be commensurate with education and/or experience within fiscal constraints if approved.

JOB DUTIES

  • Nebraska Public Transit is a lifeline for rural communities, providing access to healthcare, education, employment, and more.   • This position is an integral role not just in preserving but also in enhancing the Nebraska State Transit Program. As a Transit Projects and Programs Coordinator, this position will assist with the procurement of Public Transit equipment and services, including but not limited to writing, editing, and oversight of Transit Vehicle/Equipment purchasing, specifications, contracts, and inspections.
  • Position is responsible for the preparation and maintenance of the NDOT Federal Asset Inventory, Compliance Reviews, Training, Safety Plans, and National Transit Database reporting. In addition, an understanding of Federal and State policies is vital to the success of this position.

Requirements / Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in urban and regional planning, transportation planning, engineering technology, business, data science, physical sciences, geographic information systems, or a related field, plus three years of related experience. Experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, contract administration, or other appropriate curriculum, plus two years of significantly related work experience, or a combination of education and experience equivalent to the above requirements. Experience can be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis

Other:

  • Both in-state and occasional overnight travel are required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license or the ability to provide independent authorized transportation.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES

  • Demonstrated experience with MS Office, specifically Microsoft Excel, knowledge of Federal and State Regulations, and grant management.
  • Ability to manage time and competing priorities.
  • Ability to learn and apply the principles and concepts of specific agency programs, policies, and operating details to manage grant-funded programs.
  • Effectively communicate to explain complex information to various audiences.
