Responsibilities:
Enterprise Data Strategy: Define and execute a comprehensive enterprise data strategy that supports clinical, operational, and research priorities and aligns with Penn Medicine’s strategic goals. Establish and enforce enterprise-wide standards for data sources, metric definitions, data models, and reporting. Leverage deep expertise in EMRs and core healthcare data systems to drive integration and usability across the organization.
Leadership & Organizational Transformation: Articulate a clear vision for how data enables performance, quality, and efficiency, and lead the organizational change required to achieve that vision. Promote best practices in data, analytics, and decision-making, raising data literacy and embedding data into clinical and operational workflows. Make prioritization and tradeoff decisions that maximize enterprise value and enable scale.
Team Leadership & Development: Lead and develop a centralized, high-performing data organization spanning clinical, operational, and research data domains. Foster a positive, inclusive, and innovative culture that attracts, develops, and retains top data and analytics talent. Establish clear service models, roles, and expectations to improve delivery effectiveness and stakeholder satisfaction.
Stakeholder Partnership: Partner closely with clinical, operational, and technical leaders to understand needs, prioritize initiatives, and deliver high-impact solutions. Balance responsiveness to stakeholder needs with the discipline required to drive standardization and scale. Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on data, analytics, and emerging technologies.
Industry & Domain Expertise: Stay current on healthcare data trends, analytics and AI advancements, and regulatory requirements. Incorporate relevant innovations into Penn Medicine’s data strategy in a responsible, governed manner.
