Product Development Engineer

Location: Dallas–Fort Worth, Texas (Relocation Available)

About the Role

A growing medical device manufacturer is seeking a hands?on Sr. Product Development Engineer to lead the design and development of next?generation orthopedic products. This role is ideal for someone with deep expertise in soft?goods materials, orthopedic applications, and end?to?end product development.

You will lead R&D projects from concept through commercialization, collaborating closely across product, manufacturing, and quality functions. This is a high?impact position offering the opportunity to influence product strategy, material selection, and engineering processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead new orthopedic bracing product development from concept through launch
• Manage prototyping, testing, validation, and technical documentation
• Translate clinical needs and market requirements into engineering solutions
• Collaborate cross?functionally with product, quality, manufacturing, and supply chain teams
• Evaluate materials, components, and manufacturing methods
• Provide leadership and mentorship within the engineering function
• Support continuous improvement in product design and production

Must?Have Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Biomedical, Materials Science, or related)
• 5+ years of experience in orthopedic bracing or soft?goods medical device product development
• Extensive experience with:
  • Neoprene
  • Foams
  • Textiles
  • Soft?goods construction techniques
• Experience with plastics, composites, and hybrid?material assemblies
• Demonstrated ability to bring regulated medical device products from concept to market
• Strong understanding of orthopedic applications and bracing technologies
• Preferred Qualifications
• Experience leading engineering teams or cross?functional project groups
• Familiarity with medical device regulatory standards and documentation
• Background in manufacturing or materials engineering
• Strong analytical, problem?solving, and communication skills
