The Role: This role will provide subject matter advice and technical support on policy matters related to innovative technologies in aviation such as Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS), Electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL), Hydrogen. It will also support in the development of regulation, means of compliance and guidance material for these areas. You will own specific policy items in the technical areas of Future Safety & Innovation (FS&I), supported by the policy lead or policy specialist and you will have the opportunity to participate in rule making and drafting means of compliance and guidance material, and will contribute by researching material to help draft regulations and guidance material. The role enables growth of the policy associate to develop their expertise in policy making for new innovative technologies in aviation.

About You : This role would be ideally suited to an initial graduate level background in the technical area of aviation or equivalent industry , such as automotive, marine, rail, but we are open to all applicants who match the skills required for the role.

Relocation & Property: The CAA will be relocating from Aviation House (Our Gatwick Office) to new premises in a few years’ time. Our move is driven by strategic, operational, and environmental considerations. We will be moving to a new local home, up to a 15-mile radius of Aviation House, to minimise disruption for our valued colleagues and customers. We are now working with colleagues and visitors to understand what we need in our new office before we start our property search. We will sell Aviation House and land, vacate the site, and move to new premises, but we do not expect to move before 2028
