We are seeking a Junior Platform Engineer – Store Operations to support the stability, performance and ongoing improvement of the technology platforms powering our retail stores.

In this role, you will act as a technical expert for store-level systems, integrations and data flows, collaborating with product, delivery and operations teams to ensure seamless store operations.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, maintain and optimize store-level platforms to ensure high availability and performance
  • Provide Tier 2 technical support for store operations teams, troubleshooting issues related to data flows, system performance and integrations
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve platform incidents and minimize disruption to store operations
  • Understand relational databases, including writing and optimizing queries, performing data validation and supporting ETL processes
  • Develop understanding of integration patterns such as API-based, event-driven, flat-file, message queues and real-time vs batch to support system connections
  • Work with engineering teams to implement and validate integrations between store systems and enterprise platforms
  • Ensure stability of the system and provide guidance in new implementations
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of deployment pipelines and operational processes
  • Implement and enhance monitoring, alerting and observability tools to proactively identify performance issues
  • Participate in on-call rotation for critical store systems
  • Contribute to root-cause analysis and the development of long-term stability improvements
  • Act as a bridge between delivery, product and business, ensuring technical issues are clearly communicated
  • Document system flows, operational procedures, troubleshooting guides and knowledge bases
  • Provide training and technical guidance to cross-functional teams when needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent practical experience
  • Knowledge of SQL, including query writing, joins, performance tuning, data validation and troubleshooting
  • Understanding of system integration methods such as REST/SOAP APIs, message queues, flat-file transfer, ETL pipelines and event-driven architectures
  • Experience supporting distributed systems or platforms at scale (0-2 years)
  • Skills in analytical and diagnostic troubleshooting in complex, multi-system environments
  • Proficiency in verbal and written English communication, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical audiences

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting technologies in retail, grocery or high-volume operational environments
  • Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure or GCP
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools
  • Understanding of POS systems, inventory platforms or store workforce/operations tools
  • Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD processes
