FACILITIES TECHNICIAN
The Facilities Technician is a hybrid role that combines responsibilities of a Maintenance Mechanic and an Operator. This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing plant equipment while also supporting production and operational activities as business needs require. The role helps ensure equipment reliability, effective contractor coordination, safe and efficient operations, on-time production, and smooth material flow throughout the facility.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Perform daily maintenance and repair duties on plant equipment not serviced by outside contractors.
- Maintain and execute the preventive maintenance (PM) program, ensuring all PMs are completed and documented.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues to minimize downtime.
- Maintain building equipment, systems, and work areas in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
- Coordinate and oversee contractor activities, including estimates, capital projects, and expense control.
- Perform warehousing duties, including shipping, receiving, material handling, and inspections as required.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
- Support production operations, including set-up, packaging, and changeovers as needed.
- Flex between maintenance, warehouse/production duties based on operational priorities.
- Perform all duties in accordance with Hydrite SOPs, safety policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in RCRA, regulatory, health & safety, and process training activities and maintain RCRA compliance.
- Uphold Hydrite’s Standard of Excellence through quality facilities, products, and services.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
REPORTING STRUCTURE
- This position reports to the Plant Manager
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment preferred. (but not required)
- Previous warehouse and/or production experience preferred. (but not required)
- Experience with CMMS systems (e.g., Maximo) preferred.
- Knowledge of work safety and environmental regulations.
- Ability to work weekends, overtime, and flexible schedules as operational needs require.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Must have an acceptable driving record.
