Adjunct Faculty – Professional Programs:

Professional Programs include but are not limited to: Administration of Justice, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Info Systems Technology, Business Management/Administration, Nursing, Surgical Technology, Dental Hygiene, Emergency Medical Tech and Medical Records.

Laurel Ridge Community College is accepting applications for an adjunct, part-time faculty (day, evening and weekend) for Professional Programs. Adjunct Faculty positions are appointed on a course-by-course, semester basis as needed. Adjunct faculty are employed to teach up to 12 credit hours in the Fall and Spring semester and/or up to 8 credit hours during Summer session. Teaching load is based upon student enrollment and staffing needs. Compensation is per credit hour and based upon rank. The adjunct faculty appointment contains no guarantee of continued employment. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate level college courses, which may include distance learning, on and off campus courses during the day, evening and weekends. A teaching demonstration may be required.

Applicants should posess a Master’s degree, have eighteen graduate semester hours in the discipline/prefix specific to the class. Certain developmental or technical courses may be taught by instructors with a Bachelor’s degree, a special certification, and/or work experience. The ability to use instructional technology is a plus. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until needed positions are filled. Compensation and Benefits:

Adjunct/Continuing Education Faculty: The rate per credit hour will commensurate with education and relevant or teaching experience. The position is part time and as such is not eligible for health or leave benefits. However, the position may offer educational benefits through our professional development and educational assistance policies.
