Job Title: Technical Director

Job Description

As a Technical Director, you will be responsible for managing the full life cycle of projects. You must possess the ability to assertively develop long-term client relationships while delivering exceptional customer service. You will work with mechanical and electrical systems, requiring you to read and interpret engineering drawings and understand the complexities of amusement and theme park rides.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the project administration team, ensuring effective workflow and task completion.
  • Establish and monitor action item lists and project schedules, guiding teams to meet deadlines.
  • Issue contracts, purchase orders, and payments to vendors, overseeing coordination of global and domestic shipping.
  • Support onsite staff during installations and maintain weekly progress reports on fabrication.
  • Issue customer invoices, follow up on payments, and perform cost tracking for new ride and service projects.
  • Coordinate design reviews and meetings, interfacing with project teams, finance team, and other leadership.
  • Be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet project deadlines.

Essential Skills

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in project management, running full life cycles.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical design, CAD, engineering design, steel construction, welding, fasteners, machining, bearings, wheels, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical systems, and human factors.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite, AutoCAD, and Solidworks.
  • Strong personnel, project, and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a precise phone voice and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to sort through raw data and produce matrices.
  • Fluency in additional language(s) is a plus.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in the amusement park industry is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of MS Project is a plus.
  • Ability to multi-task and adjust to frequently changing priorities.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.

Work Environment

This position is based on-site in St. Petersburg, Monday through Friday, with travel required 10-20% of the time. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Petersburg, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.06 - $60.06/hr.
