In this role, you will be a part of the Corporate Communications team, based in Chicago (hybrid opportunity).

This position plays a crucial role in disseminating messages for a variety of internal audiences. The primary role of Internal Communications Coordinator, Intranet is to foster engagement through the intranet and develop content to educate and inspire employees. With a focus on managing the intranet, you will also support improving existing communications and delivering strategic communications through multiple channels. This position involves a blend of communication and organizational skills to support our internal online environment for employees.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

  • As a member of the communications team, reporting to the Internal Communications Manager, you are responsible for writing compelling content for internal audiences that aligns with EXP’s business objectives and values, including articles, emails, announcements and leadership messages.
  • Ensure all intranet content is accurate, timely and compliant with EXP policies by actively monitoring, moderating and enforcing guidelines to maintain a safe and respectful online environment for employees.
  • Observe how employees interact with the intranet to identify improvements. Review employee feedback in order to provide suggestions and address issues.
  • Analyze intranet usage trends and engagement rates to measure effectiveness that will guide future strategy for the intranet.
  • Assist in publishing and archiving content to ensure the intranet is always current, accurate and relevant.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to seek information and suggest story topics to ensure employees are informed.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with intranet stakeholders across different shared services and sectors.
  • Participate in the communications team’s content review process, according to AP standards, to provide edits for clarity, comprehension and effectiveness.
  • Work closely with corporate marketing team for the development of engaging multimedia campaigns for internal use.
  • Make sure all communication materials meet EXP’s brand guidelines and standards.

What Your Experience Looks Like

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations or related experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in communications, preferably in the AEC industry or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with internal distribution platforms such as Poppulo, Viva Amplify or related platforms, and online content management systems including SharePoint or other similar intranet platforms.
  • Demonstrated mastery of English grammar, including spelling and punctuation.
  • Creative thinking with strong storytelling and writing skills.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite and knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Ability to thrive in a deadline-intensive environment.

The salary range for this role is $55,000 to $65,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's skill set, experience, certifications, and geographic location. Compensation may vary by location due to differences in the cost of labor.
