An elite global Law Firm that serves leading companies, financial institutions, and governments worldwide in helping clients resolve complex legal challenges is looking for a Legal Administrative Assistant (Practice Assistant) for their Washington, DC location. The Legal Practice Assistant will support attorneys by performing a diverse range of administrative tasks with precision and discretion. The position calls for skillful multi-tasking and prioritization of assignments. This role will start off on a long-term temporary basis and demands a high level of organizational skill, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative and legal support to assigned practice groups and other attorney teams as needed.
  • Plan and coordinate attorneys' schedules, appointments, conferences, and meetings.
  • Manage complex domestic and international travel arrangements, including preparing business itineraries.
  • Handle expense reports, phone calls, and incoming correspondence, ensuring accurate and timely communication.
  • Draft, proofread, and release time sheets, maintain client and matter lists, and complete conflict search reports.
  • Cultivate positive working relationships and navigate the organization on behalf of lawyer assignments, maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a demanding environment, liaising with all levels of staff, attorneys, and clients.
  • 3-5 years of law firm experience with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, positive initiative-driven approach, and ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.

Compensation: $33-39/hr

Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
