Quality Control Inspector
Burbank, CA
Full Time Temp to hire.
Monday thru Friday 6am to 3:30am
$24hr to $29hr depending on experience.
Innovative manufacturer of highly engineered fluid and gas handling high pressure equipment designed to generate high pressures to store and control gases and liquids for a wide range of applications, is looking for a Quality Control Inspector to join their team in Burbank.
Summary: Performs receiving, in-process and/or final inspection of hardware. Conducts complex inspections as defined by quality/inspection plans or per directions of quality management/engineering. Uses a complete range of precision tools and instruments requiring advanced inspection skills and techniques. Ensures all gages/tools used are properly calibrated. Train and provide direction to junior and senior inspectors. Identify accurate and efficient means of inspection techniques.
Responsibilities:
- Perform visual, routine and complex inspections using standard and sophisticated gages/tools.
- Verify supplier material certifications, including special processes, and ensure compliance with quality/PO.
- Identify workmanship material defects; process discrepant material in accordance with quality procedures.
- Verifies first articles from suppliers and internal departments.
- Prepares and processes records and reports to document supplier/operations performance.
- Qualify supplier components and/or systems for assuring conforming product.
- Adheres to calibrations system of inspection, measuring and test equipment.
- Applies Statistical Quality Control techniques as directed.
- Assist with interpretation of drawings, specifications and quality requirements.
- Process goods, investigates and evaluates component parts returned and nonconforming product.
- Prepares certification documentation when requested by customers or internal users.
- Performs other activities as assigned by quality supervision.
- Work primarily in a manufacturing and inspection lab environment.
- Equipment includes, but not limited to’ micrometers, calipers, comparators, ring & gages, gage blocks, surface plate, height gage, dial indicators, specialized fixtures/equipment, and optical measuring equipment.
Qualifications:
- High school graduate.
- A minimum of 2 years mechanical and/or assembly inspection.
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings/diagrams and specifications.
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance methods and principals; geometrics, metrology, statistical process control, inspection/calibration techniques, workmanship standards criteria, sampling plans.
- Requires inquisitive attitude and mature judgement in performing duties.
- Exposure to broad spectrum of fabrication processes is desired, Industrial manufacturing, machining, and assembly of electro-mechanical components.
- Familiar with personal computers.
