Akkodis is seeking an Engineer for a Contract with a client in Seattle, WA. This role requires advanced expertise in Azure and Databricks to lead large‑scale data pipeline architecture and optimization.

Rate Range: $45/hour to $56/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Engineer job responsibilities include:

• Leading large-scale, cross‑functional initiatives to define the technical roadmap for the WFM Data Services platform and align designs with architectural standards.
• Architecting, building, and optimizing real‑time and batch data pipelines on Azure and Databricks, including robust automation and monitoring frameworks for KPIs and data quality.
• Executing proofs of concept (POCs) for new tools/technologies and translating strategic objectives into clear technical and business requirements.
• Defining and implementing data governance and retention policies, while driving process improvements such as automation, performance tuning, and infrastructure scalability.
• Partnering with engineering and product stakeholders to deliver highly available, secure ETL/ELT solutions and analytics capabilities (e.g., ADF, PySpark, Power BI).
• Communicating status and risks to senior leadership, directing project teams, and performing root‑cause analysis to ensure durable resolutions.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s in computer science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
• 7–10+ years in data engineering, including 5+ years designing scalable pipelines on Azure/Databricks and 3+ years leading large, cloud‑based initiatives.
• Proven, hands‑on expertise with Databricks, PySpark, ADF, and SQL/Python, including building/optimizing ETL pipelines and implementing monitoring/automation for data quality and KPIs.
• Demonstrated experience defining and enforcing data governance and retention policies and partnering with cross‑functional teams to deliver real‑time, highly available data platforms.

Pay Details: $45.00 to $56.00 per hour
