As part of the Inventory Management Applications Suite, Application Developer is responsible for leading very high volume / low latency enterprise multi-tiered Java applications to provide cutting edge solutions for the Stock Record and related Application in the Capital Markets domain while following the industry best practices and Citi standards.
The primary responsibility will be the design and development and providing Level 3 support for these applications. Coordination between stakeholders and teams; thus, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and product quality is essential. Stock Record is business critical, with complex interfaces/dependencies, consisting of time sensitive deliveries.
As an Application Developer, the candidate must have a strong emphasis on Microservice architecture, design patterns, and UI/UX angular expertise, who can implement solutions (conceptualize, design and development) while working and collaborating with a distributed team of developers working simultaneously on different application layers (UI, server side and database/reporting) towards developing enterprise solutions for large projects. Collaborating with various internal teams and stakeholders is a must to provide best solutions and support.
This requires a highly experienced Angular, Java developer, with Microservices development experience, who has a track record of delivering highly scalable robust applications that use the latest tools and technologies while working on all phases of the development life cycle. The candidate will also be expected to work on Java/Weblogic technology stack as we work towards modernizing and simplifying the application to microservices ecosystem.
Responsibilities:
o Responsible for design and development as a full stack java developer to build very high volume low latency enterprise applications that can adapt and scale to changing market conditions.
o Responsible for delivery of application technology solutions and data information planning effort, owns the technical development environment and works with the Enterprise team to deliver in a fast paced time bound manner.
o Help ensure high quality software delivery by providing guidance on testing strategy, technical consultation to plan/design performance testing, and providing feedback/guidance for tuning performance and other non-functional elements of the application.
o Migration of application functionalities that are part of large monolithic systems, running on WebLogic, into an ecosystem of Microservices using the latest technologies, and/or a combination of microservices and monoliths where applicable.
o Understanding the client requirements and envision the solution that can be captured as respective user stories in JIRA.
o Understanding the impact of adapting different architectures and designs and present the same to all relevant stakeholders.
o Management of both functional and technical requirements while deciding on technical solutions.
o Development of solutions following established technical design, application development standards and quality processes in projects.
o Building test automation suites to reduce the regression effort of the QA team.
o Identification of existing system bottlenecks and deficiencies, devise and implement robust solutions to address these shortcomings.
o Interaction with other stakeholders not limited to end-user clients, Project Manager/Scrum master, Business Analysts, offshore development, Quality Assurance and other cross-functional teams.
