About the Role:

Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is currently searching for a remarkable Maintenance Technician for the Staybridge Suites in Des Moines, IA.

The Maintenance Technician I plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of facility equipment and systems across the organization. This entry-level position focuses on performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to prevent downtime and extend the lifespan of machinery and infrastructure. The technician will work closely with senior maintenance staff to learn and apply best practices in mechanical, electrical, and general maintenance tasks. By maintaining a safe and functional environment, the Maintenance Technician I directly contributes to operational productivity and workplace safety. Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Completion of a technical or vocational training program related to maintenance or industrial technology.
• Previous experience in a maintenance or facilities role.
• Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Basic understanding of safety regulations such as OSHA standards.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to identify and resolve potential issues.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions to minimize operational disruptions.
• Assist in the installation, repair, and replacement of facility equipment and components under the guidance of senior technicians.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and parts usage.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
