What You'll Do
About Staffing in BCG
Staffing is a business-critical function at the heart of what we do at BCG. You will be working with multiple partners in local/regional level to optimize staffing. You should be commercially aware and have excellent communication skills as you will be dealing with high profile projects and negotiating with project leadership regarding their team members.
Role Profile
Working closely with our consultants, you need to understand their experience and explore multiple project options in Korea and overseas that best match their development needs and career ambitions. You will also need to be diplomatic and tactful to handle situations where staffing might not be able to meet their personal requests.
Roles and responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Work closely with the Staffing Manager to understand and prioritize business needs, and own day-to-day staffing coordination for the assigned consultants
- Manage regular communication with consultants to discuss staffing options, personal interests, constraints, and final staffing outcomes
- Coordinate with case leadership to track project status, including start/end dates, change in team size or composition, extensions, roll-offs, etc.
- Partner with case leadership to understand staffing requirements, and advise on optimal cohort and team member mix, while balancing needs across multiple projects simultaneously
- Maintain the staffing management system (SAM) with a high level of accuracy, discipline and consistency, including:
- Input and update current and future staffing commitments such as start/end dates, case codes, leave and non-project plans
- Publish and maintain local and overseas pipelines in SAM to ensure staffing opportunities are reflected accurately and in a timely manner
- Manage the SAM voting process including the AI-based algorithm tools
- Identify data inconsistencies and ensure timely correction to maintain overall data reliability
- Support cross-office staffing coordination by acting as a key liaison between local case leadership and oversea staffing teams
- Coordinate consulting staff leave requests in line with staffing needs
- Coordinate staffing for new hires and lead the New Hire Coaching Program (NCP)
- Liaise with other HR functions and Commercial team regarding HR/staffing-related movements
- Produce HR reports for various purposes, including pyramid/FTE planning, LOA tracking, etc.
- Support people initiatives and people events
- Support Teaming@BCG survey from a staffing and resource planning perspective
What You'll Bring
- University graduate
- Minimum 5 years of work experience in HR-related functions with global companies or professional services firms
- Fluent English communication skills with the ability to engage professionally with consultants, case leadership, and local/regional stakeholders
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing capability, including clear communication, sound judgment, and effective negotiation in staffing discussions
- High level of autonomy and execution discipline, with the ability to manage priorities independently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Exceptional attention to detail and professionalism, ensuring data accuracy and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information
- Confidence in using documentation and data analytics tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and GenAI-enabled tools
- Must be a Korean native speaker
