We are seeking a Sr Record Keeper (CM Technical Specialist 1) to join our Lubbock, TX team! Come join us!

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Effectively communicates and maintains liaison with TxDOT personnel, construction superintendent, subcontractor, inspectors, and contractor's staff to ensure project records are accurately reflect changes and agreements.
  • Maintains construction project records and processes related paperwork; reviews and modifies contract documents to reflect changes to the original agreement; monitors records to verify compliance with state and federal laws and determines payments due to the contractor for work completed.
  • Understanding of contract language
  • Monitors contractors' compliance with federal requirements related to Equal Employment Opportunities and wages
  • Monitors the on-the-job training program and the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise and Small Business Enterprise programs; submits required monthly reports
  • Prepares and submits monthly and final estimates, checks calculations against work log, and estimate form to verify work is completed before payment is made
  • Prepares correspondence, reports, supporting documents, and files
  • Processes change orders, supplemental agreements, and extra work orders

Minimum requirements:

  • 2 years of advanced education (degree preferred)
  • 5 years of experience in Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) record keeping Experience with TxDOT projects (i.e. change order process, RFIs, estimates,)
  • Ability to multi-task and oversee multiple projects and meet the client’s needs.

Technical requirements:

  • SiteManager Experience- TxDOT Document Control System
  • ProjectWise document management experience
  • LCPTracker & Diversity Management System (DMS) experience
  • Experience reviewing TxDOT payments and calculations
  • Fluent in Microsoft Programs (Word, Excel, & Teams)

Other miscellaneous qualities:

  • Governmental policies and procedures
  • Auditing and investigative methods, practices, and procedures
  • Applicable laws, rules, and regulations
  • Reading and interpreting applicable plans, schematics, blueprints, and maps
  • Performing calculations using algebra, trigonometry, and geometry
  • Writing, reviewing, and revising documents to include engineering notes, specifications, standards, and procedures
  • Preparing and maintaining confidential and sensitive records, files, and reports
  • Using computers, applicable programs, applications, and systems
  • Maintaining a safe and effective working relationship with others
  • Establishing plans and setting objectives and goals that support overall business strategy/results, anticipating and adjusting for problems/roadblocks
  • Analyzing issues, facts, and available information to develop logical solutions; researching inconsistencies of facts or data; drawing correct inferences from information and making recommendations that support business decisions
  • Performs other job duties as assigned
