The mission of Pinecrest Supports and Services Center is to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to reach treatment goals and to return to more integrated community living settings. Pinecrest Supports and Services Center specializes in the treatment of people with comorbid intellectual and developmental disabilities and complex medical, behavioral, and psychiatric support needs.

Pinecrest Supports & Services Center (PSSC) is seeking a dedicated Interpreter (American Sign Language) to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in ensuring high-quality care and coordination of services across Pinecrest.

Position is located with PINECREST SUPPORTS & SERVICES CENTER.

Location: Residential Services

Shift: 8AM-8PM Team A or B

Interpreter $25.00hr.

Only Applicants certified or proficient in American Sign Language will be considered.

This position will be filled as an Unclassified Appointment based on this job posting.

Minimum Qualifications

Proficient in American Sign Language to serve as an Interpreter for people in need of deaf services or Certified in American Sign Language.

Job Duties and Other Information

  • Interpret for one or more persons who are both intellectually/developmentally disabled and deaf. Incumbent interprets resident's American Sign Language (ASL) to verbal speech in order to facilitate the resident's expressive communication with others and interprets others' verbal speech to the resident(s) using ASL in order to facilitate the resident's receptive communication. Interpretation services are provided in residential, programmatic, recreational, and health care settings at the facility and in community settings during community integration activities and medical appointments. Facilitate resident's participation in his/her active treatment program as required by Federal regulations (Title XIX) for those admitted to Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IID).
  • Provide information to and/or in-service staff about communication needs and strategies for deaf residents. Participate in Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) meetings regarding active treatment programs for residents in need of and receiving ASL interpreter services.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Administrator to support the Agency and/or the people we serve.
