The Office of Income Maintenance is seeking hardworking and detail-oriented people to provide seasonal help to the staff of the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) at the Montgomery County Assistance Office. In this position, you will be processing initial benefit applications as well as CRISIS applications for LIHEAP. This is a full-time, seasonal position that typically runs for 6 to 8 months during the fall and winter seasons to assist clients in the process of applying for heating assistance. After receiving on-the-job training, you will be performing various duties such as interviewing clients, acting as a liaison with heating vendors, and reviewing applications received to recommend approval or disapproval of benefits consistent with federal and state regulations. The majority of work is completed through data entry. Work assignments are limited in scope and performed under close supervision of an Income Maintenance Casework Supervisor who reviews work for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to the program regulations. You may perform other related duties as assigned.
