About the role

As Quality Manager at our Glamsbjerg site, you will be a key member of the Site Leadership Team, leading a team of 14 professionals across hygiene, quality assurance, quality control, quality systems, and laboratory functions. You will set the tone for a people-focused culture, championing team development and empowerment while driving the site’s quality agenda. You’ll ensure compliance with global standards and foster a spirit of continuous improvement and accountability. This is a leadership role where you will influence strategy, inspire teams, collaborate cross-functionally, and manage relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders across our global organization to ensure food safety excellence. You will be entrusted with full responsibility for the Quality department, ensuring accountability, transparency, and a strong quality culture throughout the site. The role is permanent, full-time and required an onsite activity.

Key responsibilities

1/ Food Safety Leadership

  • Drive food safety excellence across the site by implementing Food Safety Quality (FSQ) strategies, maintaining Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) certification, and managing Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and preventive controls.
  • Act as decision-maker during emergency, oversee blocked stock, and prioritize food safety in capital planning.
  • Participate actively in Site Leadership Team (SLT) meetings and contribute to site strategy.
  • Manage and influence a diverse range of stakeholders, both internally and externally, ensuring alignment and collaboration across the global organization.

2/ Compliance & Regulatory Assurance

  • Ensure product compliance with specifications and regulations before release.
  • Supervise internal/external audits and quality controls and customer visits
  • Coordinate annual quality plans (ISO, HACCP, Food Safety System Certification, Halal, Kosher) and align with other departments.

3/ Continuous Improvement & Performance

  • Monitor FSQ Key Performance Indicators, report trends, and lead improvement initiatives using root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance performance, sustainability, and cost efficience.

4/ Customer Engagement & Satisfaction

  • Act as primary FSQ contact, manage complaints, lead investigations, and share learnings to foster transparency and improvement.
  • Act as point of contact for external parties during emergencies or quality issues.

5/ Team Leadership & Development

  • Build and develop the Quality team
  • Manage recruitment, performance, engagement, and departmental budgets effectively.

Qualifications and skills

In Kerry we understand that people have very different career trajectories and experiences. To be successful in this role we would be looking for the right competencies and aptitudes as well as your proven track record of success in a similar role and environment. These include

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Quality Management within food manufacturing or pharmaceutical environments, ideally including exposure to export processes.
  • Proven leadership skills, including team development, empowerment, goal setting, and performance management.
  • Fluent in English; Danish is an advantage.
  • Ability to take full ownership of the Quality department, ensuring accountability, transparency, and continuous performance improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and influence stakeholders in a global matrix environment.
