Position Summary
The Prosthodontics department in the Indiana University School of Dentistry is seeking qualified applicants for our clinical-track faculty position. This will be a 12-month appointment at the rank of assistant professor at 1.0 FTE, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026.
Our new faculty member will come ready to build upon the school’s and campus’s tradition of excellence and to further advance scholarship, education, clinical service, and community engagement. Our new team member will be expected to provide clinical and didactic instruction to predoctoral dental students and graduate prosthodontics residents, participate in competency assessments, and help to implement a comprehensive and robust curriculum using state of the art and emerging technologies. Generation of scholarly activity as well as engagement in university service at the department, school, and university levels, including participation in departmental and school governance is expected. Faculty practice and other revenue-generating opportunities will be considered for eligible candidates.

IUSD offers a dynamic learning environment for faculty, in which teaching, research, clinical care, and community service are core to our mission through our School-owned clinics and educational programs in Indianapolis and Fort Wayne, Indiana. Our main facility includes a state-of-the-art 45,000–square-foot James J. Fritts DDS Clinical Care Center on the IU-Indianapolis campus, adjacent to local hospitals and part of an urban academic health center. In 2026, we will open our newly renovated Delta Dental Special Care Clinic to enhance our ability to train oral health professionals and provide care for patients with disabilities, including those with complex craniofacial disorders and medical complexity in an interdisciplinary setting.
