NPDL is the largest carrier in its core Pacific Island markets operating eight container ships and servicing 18 Pacific Island nations.

We have a great opportunity for a Fixed – Term Customer Service To deliver high-quality customer service by handling enquiries, resolving issues efficiently, and ensuring a positive customer experience throughout the duration of the fixed-term contract.

Job Description

  • Provide export rates to customers and renew monthly rates before quoting
  • Send weekly sailing schedules to clients every Monday
  • Create export bookings and Bills of Lading in the COSCO system
  • Check stock availability in CRS before releasing containers for export
  • Obtain receiving notices and forward them to export customers
  • Raise export and import invoices in CargoWise within required timelines
  • Send arrival notices to customers at least 4 days before vessel ETA, including BOL and invoices
  • Coordinate with the Data Management Team to create client codes for invoicing
  • Follow up on empty container returns and update container status in COSCO
  • Send payment reminders for outstanding freight and detention invoices
  • Review detention reports weekly, add comments, and circulate to management
  • Update and share export forecasts with internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide empty reposition and EP number details to relevant teams before vessel arrival
  • Handle daily operational requests including credit notes, booking amendments, and BOL amendments
  • Deliver general customer service support and respond to client enquiries professionally

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Diploma or certificate in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field OR equivalent practical experience
  • Minimum of 1–3 years’ experience in customer service, shipping, freight forwarding, or logistics operations
  • Proven experience handling export and import documentation, including Bills of Lading and invoices
  • Hands-on experience with CargoWise and shipping line systems (e.g. COSCO)
  • Strong understanding of container movements, detention, empty returns, and vessel schedules
  • Experience in invoicing, rate management, and debtor follow-ups
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
