Zurich North America’s Boston Staff Legal Office is currently hiring a Paralegal II, General Liability to join their team! Under the supervision of an attorney, the successful candidate’s work will be in support of moderate to complex liability litigation cases (e.g. case work, research, discovery responses, subpoenas, etc.).

This is a hybrid work position, however, the candidate selected for this opportunity should be able to report into one of the following North American office locations: Boston, MA

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Providing legal support to 3 attorneys
• Drafting legal pleadings, correspondence, and other documents as directed
• Providing legal support such as legal and documentary research
• Monitoring case schedules and filing deadlines
• Conducting interviews, summarizing depositions, medical records
• Preparing discovery requests and responses
• Assisting in trial preparation
• Responding to inquiries from and interacting with customers, clients, counsel, and witnesses
• Keeping track of billable hours.
• Organizing and maintaining case files and documentation, electronically
• Contributing to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed

Required:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 4 or more years of experience in the Legal Support area

OR

• Associate Degree and 2 or more years of experience in the Legal Support area

AND

• Experience conducting electronic database research
• Experience drafting legal documents, correspondence, and/or pleadings
• Experience in legal support
• Experience with Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Paralegal experience in the jurisdictions of Rhode Island and Massachusetts
• E-Filling Experience
• Insurance Defense experience
• Ability to effectively conduct electronic database research, including Lexus Nexis
• Microsoft 365 Office, strong computer skills in Windows 10
• Comfortable working in a paperless work environment
• Strong communication & writing skills.
• Be able to work independently
• Experience with direct client contact
• Experience assisting with exhibits in trial
• Comfortable working in a remote & an office environment.
• CORE Registered Paralegal (CRP) or PACE Registered Paralegal (PRP)
• Certified Paralegal (CP) or Professional Paralegal (PP)
• Certified Legal Assistant (CLA)

Your pay at Zurich is based on your role, location, skills, and experience. We follow local laws to ensure fair compensation. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. The pay range shown is a national average and may vary by location. The proposed hourly rate range for this position is $28.80 - $44.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 5%.
