Job Responsibilities:
JOB SUMMARY:
Supports the Quality Manager in leading the Quality Assurance team and ensuring compliance with quality standards. Assists in advanced quality planning, supplier quality assurance, quality support for manufacturing, inspection and testing processes, customer complaint resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives. Works closely with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to maintain and improve quality systems. Helps implement lean techniques and supports compliance with QS9000/TS16949 standards. Provides guidance to team members and contributes to operational strategies that enhance product quality and process capability.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Team Support & Coordination
- Assists the Quality Manager in providing direction and support to Quality Assurance team members.
- Coordinates quality activities with manufacturing, engineering, purchasing, and other departments.
- Quality System Maintenance
- Supports implementation and maintenance of quality systems that meet QS9000/TS16949 standards.
- Monitors compliance and participates in audits and corrective actions.
- Customer & Supplier Interaction
- Maintains communication with customers and suppliers to address quality concerns and ensure requirements are met.
- Assists in resolving customer complaints and implementing preventive measures.
- Process & Continuous Improvement
- Participates in quality planning and process improvement initiatives.
- Inspection & Testing Oversight
- Reviews inspection and testing processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Assists in managing testing laboratories and related documentation.
- Safety & Compliance
- Promotes and enforces safety standards within the department.
- Participates in workplace inspections and ensures compliance with Health, Safety, and ISO14001 policies.
- Training & Development
- Assists in training quality team members on procedures, standards, and best practices.
- Provides coaching and support to enhance team skills and performance.
- Other Duties
- Supports lean manufacturing techniques and efforts to improve product quality and process capability.
- Performs additional tasks as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals
- Actively contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment, demonstrating flexibility to adapt to evolving business needs and priorities.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- ASQ certification (or ability to receive certification within 12 months).
- 3+ years of experience in quality assurance or manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of QS9000/TS16949 standards and quality systems.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
- Knowledge of safety standards and protocols in manufacturing environments.
- English proficiency required, with strong verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- This role operates in both an office and plant environment.
- The employee must be able to tolerate sitting/standing for extended periods of time.
- It requires Near/Far/Depth/Color vision in order to be able to tolerate the eye strain associated with working on a computer throughout the workday.
- Must be able to tolerate the use of a keyboard and mouse on average of 8 hours per workday.
- While working in the Plant environment, the employee will be exposed to machinery, moving equipment and material, moderate noise, airborne particles, fumes, and various levels of temperature created by the manufacturing process.
- Occasional travel may be required to visit suppliers and/or customers. Travel requirements for this position are estimated at 10% and may include both domestic and/or international destinations as needed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- May require sitting or standing up to 8 hours per day.
- Occasional lifting of objects weighing up to 35 pounds.
