This position is for DSH-Coalinga.
Serve as chief of service in charge of a major general medical and surgical subdivision in a large State hospital; or supervise physicians and other professional personnel giving medical and psychiatric care to clients/patients; give medical service to such clients/patients.

Personal Leave Program (PLP): All State civil service employees are currently subject to a mandatory PLP, which entails a reduction in monthly gross salary but provided PLP leave credits. The amount of salary reduction is dependent upon the classification and associated Union Bargaining Unit (BU). This position is excluded from BU's but associated with Union of america Physicians and Dentists (UAPD), which is subject to a 4.62% salary reduction and accrues approximately 8 hours of PLP per qualifying pay period.

DSH - Coalinga opened in 2005 and began treating forensically committed patients, mostly of which are sexually violent predators. It is a self-contained psychiatric hospital constructed with a secure perimeter. California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) provides perimeter security as well as transportation of patients to outside medical services and court proceedings.
