Are you a strategic medical lead ready to shape the future of patient care in the Belux region? We are seeking a visionary Medical Lead for the Immunology team, to drive scientific excellence, foster collaboration, and deliver impact in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.

About the role

As the Medical Lead BeLux, you will provide senior medical leadership and strategic direction for the therapeutic area at the country level. You will ensure that medical strategies are aligned with global and regional priorities and are effectively implemented to support UCB’s goals. You’ll translate scientific knowledge into actionable insights that benefit patients, healthcare professionals, and the organization. The Medical Solution Leads and MSLs report directly to you, and you report to the Head of Medical Benelux.

Who you’ll work with

You will collaborate with international experts, professional societies, patient advocacy groups, and cross-functional teams across Benelux. Your network will span across UCB internally locally, but also regional/global colleagues, as well as external stakeholders such as opinion leaders and key decision makers.

What will you do

  • Co-lead the development and implementation of cross-functional medical plans, including evidence generation, stakeholder engagement, and scientific communication.
  • Champion scientific leadership and promote innovative science behind UCB’s solutions.
  • Translate and implement global and EU medical education strategies at the regional/country level.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the MSLs and Medical Solution Leads, enabling them to execute medical strategies and tactics.
  • Develop and implement training curriculums for the medical team.
  • Monitor performance, share KPIs, and ensure execution of local field medical plans.
  • Engage with external stakeholders through conferences and field meetings.
  • Support clinical studies and provide optimal support to study sites.

Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience, and skills:

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, Ph.D., Medical Degree (M.D.), or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Deep understanding of medical and scientific principles, particularly in the relevant therapeutic areas.
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Languages: Proficient Dutch, French and English are needed for the region.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven ability to collaborate across functions and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with digital tools and platforms for medical activities.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and Belgium health ecosystem knowledge.
