Position Summary

Reporting to manager appointed as applicable, the Construction Manager is responsible for carrying out construction management for the Company. This role plays an essential part of the success of the business by ensuring that the Company continues to drive innovation and deliver commercially viable products, to achieve the Companies objectives of growth and profitability.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Management of all Company Construction activities
  • Deliver Construction Activities on budget and to schedule
  • Review Client proposals/requirements issue enquiries, prepare equipment, material and man-hour estimates.
  • Review contract requirements for project execution
  • Identify a clear scope of work/supply and accordingly plan/schedule the construction activities and manpower resource. Identify and quantify total number of construction deliverables, man-hour allocation, format of delivery, time schedules and other requirements for execution of the work.
  • Coordinate with projects and planning on project time schedules, establish target completion dates, ensure target dates are achieved.
  • Direct the preparation of technical inquiry to vendors, participate in the technical evaluation of vendor bid offers. Direct and provide guidance in the evaluations, review vendor drawings and documents.
  • Proficient at preparation of scope for both man-hours and equipment estimates.
  • Ensure vendor equipment specifications meet with client equipment specifications, within scheduled timeframes and are within budgeted costs.
  • Develop Manpower charts and schedules, recommend, assign and distribute manpower for the execution of construction activities within budgeted project man-hours.
  • Recommend cost effective measures to reduce overall manpower costs
  • Interface and regularly meet with client and vendor representatives, conduct internal staff meetings, ensure the progress of project is in accordance to schedule, allotted man hours and budgeted costs.
  • Support preparation of pre-qualification responses, proposals, tenders and programmes for work
  • Coordinate with projects and planning departments on schedule related issues..
  • Managing, supporting and developing all construction personnel
  • Company Representative to client on construction activities
  • Attend all client meetings, as requested,
  • Plan and estimate for future for additional work scopes, providing details of requirements to Project Manager and ensuring the correct resources are available for execution of the work
  • Ensure compliance with approved Workpacks and procedures
  • Ensuring management of change process is followed for any change to work scope.
  • Producing detailed daily report with assistance from Construction Lead / Foreman
  • Supervising / ensuring work is appropriately assigned and managed
  • Attending Pre-Mob Handover conference calls as required
  • Ensuring adequate and qualified supervision and skilled labour resources are employed to meet schedule requirements
  • Reviewing internal and external reports pertaining to job status
  • Analysing, managing and mitigating risks
  • Ensure any change to planned work is managed
  • Completing trip and competence assessments as required
  • Management of site operations and projects in accordance with Company and/or Client documented safety systems and processes
  • Leadership in Health, Safety and Welfare of Company personnel on site
  • Participate and conduct incident investigations as required
  • Responsible for ensuring applicable Permits to Work are raised in order to complete workscope in a controlled and safe manner
  • Undertake appropriate Risk Assessments in order to complete workscope in a safe and controlled manner paying particular attention to changing workscopes
  • Conduct Toolbox talks
  • Be self-motivating in respect of safety awareness/precautions, work selection, quality and timeliness
  • Liaising in a constructive and professional manner with client and contractor personnel
  • Representing Company in a positive and professional manner at all times
  • Adopting, supporting, implementing and promoting compliance with Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality principles and objectives at all times
  • Maintaining high levels of communication between all interested parties onshore and offshore
  • Comply with relevant codes of conduct

Qualifications

  • Experienced in safe working systems – e.g. iCare, ISSOW, Risk Assessment
  • Sufficient experience in senior construction management role
  • Demonstrable experience in similar role or senior position in Construction Management
  • Demonstrative understanding and working knowledge of safe working systems – e.g. iCare, ISSOW, Risk Assessment
  • Experienced in the management of personnel and all aspects of team working
  • Strong networking and communication skills externally and internally - ability to cultivate and build strong internal and external relationships
  • Delivery focused and committed to achievement of project/company goals
  • Extensive experience in the management and control of multi-disciplined construction teams offshore
  • Competent in conflict and crisis management
  • Leadership in Safety and human resources management skills
  • Excellent time and project management skills
  • Foster positive and effective working relationships with Clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Sound time and resource management skills
  • Cognisant of business requirements and needs and adaptable to changing environment and business requirements
  • Able to travel in UK and abroad, as well as offshore
  • BOSIET, MIST and offshore medical
  • Full driving license
  • Passport
