IT Project Control Coordinator - Senior

Client: Top 5 Bank

Target Start Date: ASAP

Duration: 6 months with potential of extension possible based on performance

Remote/Hybrid: Hybrid, Downtown Toronto

Work Schedule (hours per week, start time): 40 Hours/week, 9-5 Monday to Friday

Interview Process: 2 rounds

The main function of a Project Control Officer is to provide project support to staff and providing general administrative duties as needed. A typical Project Control Officer arranges schedules and regulates flow of work within or between organizational groups or businesses.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Check master schedule and work orders, establish priorities, and change schedule according to projects, work order specifications, priorities, and availability of workers, material, or equipment.
  • Participate in meetings with clients and task members to determine progress of work and identify additional follow up needs.
  • Provide general administrative support including monitoring calendar, setting up meetings, making travel and/or meeting arrangements, entering time and filing expense reports.
  • Compile reports concerning progress of work and downtime to distribute to personnel involved in project.

Must Have Requirement:

  • 4-7 Years of experience as a PCO
  • Non-negotiable: Expert in JIRA administration and reporting, including data extraction, trend analysis (e.g., story delivery rates, state durations), insightful interpretation for leadership, and EazyBI dashboard setup
  • Demonstrated skill in organizing complex tasks, resources, and information to ensure efficient project execution, clear documentation, and streamlined workflows
  • Familiarity with Tableau / Power BI and data visualization tools
  • Experience in IT project coordination within a financial or enterprise environment
  • Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies and Scrum practices
  • Strong skills in budget tracking, financial reconciliation, and reporting
  • Advanced Excel and MS Project / Office proficiency
  • Ability to manage intake requests, track KPIs, and optimize processes
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Self-motivated with a strong drive for career growth and goal achievement

Nice to Have:

  • Able to step up as a back-up to a Scrum Master or similar leadership role
  • Experience working with Tools like Figma / Figjam
  • Exposure to enterprise CRM systems and release management
  • Knowledge of financial risk management and operations
  • Entrepreneurial or vendor management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, or related field

Apex pay scales are determined by role, experience, skill set, and location. For this new position, the estimated hourly range is provided below as a guideline; however, total compensation may vary based on individual circumstances.
