Pay $14.00 - $16.00 Hourly Position Summary
The mission of the Asian American Pacific Islander Resource Center (AAPIRC) is to build a sense of belonging and provide culturally relevant Asian American Pacific Islander programming for all students at the University of New Mexico.
AAPIRC is seeking a skilled, energetic, and detail-oriented Program Assistant to join a team committed to positively advancing and impacting the overall education experience and holistic development of the UNM student community.
This position requires advanced critical thinking and writing skills, demonstrated experience developing social media content, robust editing and research skills, dynamic interpersonal and public speaking abilities, and experience assisting with the development of surveys, forms and other data collection tools. The ideal candidate would demonstrate proficiency in the following areas: Peer Advisement, Customer & Student Service, Project Management & Event Coordination, Mentoring, and Computer Skills. Primary duties include, but are not limited to: providing general information specific to the department and/or the University, assisting with special projects and programming, conducting group presentations & campus tours, data entry, managing spreadsheet applications, publication layout and development, maintaining confidential records and information, and additional job-related duties as assigned.
This position requires in-person work at the Asian American Pacific Islander Resource Center.

Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM-Main Campus, have a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA, enrollment in at least half-time (6-credit hours) for the Spring 2026 semester (Audit hours do not count) and, if Work Study eligible, must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.
