Linen Technician (2nd Shift)
Location: Atlanta, GA
Type: Contract
Pay Rate: $17/hr.
Shifts Available:
- Second Shift: 2:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
Position Summary
The Linen Technician plays a vital role in supporting patient care by ensuring the timely collection, sorting, transportation, and distribution of clean and soiled linens throughout the hospital. This position requires attention to detail, adherence to infection control standards, and excellent customer service in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Distribution: Deliver clean linens in covered carts to hospital units and collect soiled linens for processing.
- Inventory Management: Count, track, and manage linen supplies; utilize hand-held scanners when required.
- Sorting & Handling: Sort soiled linens, remove damaged or stained items, and prepare them for laundering.
- Safety & Compliance: Follow strict infection control procedures, safety protocols, and Joint Commission standards.
- Customer Service: Communicate effectively with hospital staff to meet linen needs promptly and professionally.
- Maintenance: Keep work areas clean and organized; ensure carts and equipment are in good working condition.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Experience: 1–2 years in healthcare or similar environment preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Positive attitude and team-oriented approach
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
- Push heavy carts and stand/walk for extended periods
