Position Summary
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM), in partnership with IU Health Medical Group (IUHMG), is seeking to recruit an anatomic pathologist with strong diagnostic skills in surgical pathology and cytopathology at our Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana. Additional specific subspecialty areas are welcome. The pathology footprint at Arnett currently includes two full-time anatomic pathologists (this position will expand to three pathologists), a pathologists’ assistant, and three cytologists. This recruitment is part of a strategic expansion driven by continued growth across the Indiana University Health (IU Health) system.
IU Health is committed to expanding access to high-quality, patient-centered care, with growing opportunities at our Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana. Arnett offers a comprehensive range of services, including emergency, surgical, and specialty care, bringing advanced healthcare closer to home for individuals and families in the region. Current initiatives include expanding the Cancer Center at Arnett and planning the development of an additional hospital in West Lafayette.
IU Health Arnett is part of the 17-hospital IU Health Laboratory System, served by over 70 pathologists. Although based in Lafayette, the pathologists at Arnett have access to the expertise of the subspecialized pathologists operating out of the department’s IU Health Central Pathology Laboratory in Indianapolis. Being a part of the expansive IU Health Laboratory system affords the ideal candidate the ability to practice in a community environment with the support of the enriched environment created by an academic pathology practice.

Basic Qualifications
A Doctorate or terminal degree (MD, DO, or equivalent) is required. Board certification by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. Completion of a Surgical Pathology Fellowship or equivalent experience. Completion of a Cytopathology fellowship or equivalent experience, along with board certification in Cytopathology. Eligibility for medical licensure in the state of Indiana.
