Job Overview:
For our newly established Integrated Value Chain Organization, we are looking for a highly motivated Analyst – Supply Chain Inventory Programs. In this role, you will monitor and analyze active inventory, identify and reduce SLOB (Slow Moving and Obsolete), and manage aged inventory to improve working capital and service levels.
You will collaborate closely with Planning and Scheduling, Logistics, Finance, and Commercial teams to deliver insights, align targets, and implement inventory strategies that balance availability with efficiency. We seek a candidate with a solid foundation in inventory management and strong analytical skills. This position offers exposure to global inventory optimization, working capital improvement, and cost-to-serve analysis, providing excellent opportunities for professional growth within the Integrated Value Chain organization.
What You'll Do:
- Inventory Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Track inventory levels, turnover rates, and aging profiles across plants and warehouses
- Analyze SLOB trends and root causes by SKU, site, and business unit
- Provide regular reporting to regional and global stakeholders
- Data Analysis & Root Cause Identification
- Analyze drivers of excess and aged inventory (e.g. demand variability, MOQ, blocked stock)
- Break down inventory by product lifecycle phase and usage trends
- Support product segmentation and classification (e.g. ABC, XYZ)
- SLOB & Aged Inventory Management
- Identify materials at risk of aging into SLOB categories
- Track and follow up on mitigation actions (e.g. reallocation, discounting, scrapping)
- Monitor open actions with planners and commercial teams
- Active Inventory Control
- Support inventory right-sizing through data-driven segmentation (ABC/XYZ, etc.)
- Analyze safety stock settings and actual vs. forecast accuracy
- Recommend adjustments to planning parameters and stocking strategies
- Cross-functional Collaboration
- Partner with planners, logistics, manufacturing and finance to align inventory targets with business objectives
- Support S&OP and financial review cycles with relevant inventory insights
- Assist in global and regional inventory optimization projects
- Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to system enhancements and automation of inventory analytics
- Identify and implement standard work, templates, and dashboards
- Share best practices across EMEA sites and support harmonization
- Support additional projects or tasks as needed to meet business objectives
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or Finance
Professional Experience: 5 years in supply chain, inventory management, or finance analytics
Technical Expertise:
- Solid understanding of inventory KPIs, product lifecycle, and basic financial impacts
- End-to-end supply chain process understanding.
- Deep knowledge of SAP (MM, PP, SD modules), and Power BI
- Advanced skills in MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Core Competencies:
- Strong ability to analyze inventory trends, identify root causes, and support reduction of excess and aged stock.
- Applies structured methods to investigate inventory issues and propose corrective actions.
- Understands the financial impact of inventory decisions, including working capital, write-offs, and carrying costs.
- High analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Curious, adaptive, and committed to continuous learning and growth.
- Fluent in English; other languages are a big plus (German, Spanish, Italian)
Certifications: Ideally APICS certified (CPIM or CSCP) or L6S Green Belt
