Are you a Microsoft 365 Engineer with deep expertise in Microsoft Purview, ready to help organizations protect and govern their data in a modern digital workplace?

At HSO, we’re looking for an experienced External Contractor – Microsoft 365 Engineer (Purview Specialist) to support the design, implementation, and operationalization of Microsoft Purview solutions across enterprise environments.

Location: Remote

As a Microsoft 365 Engineer focused on Purview, you will design, implement, and operationalize Microsoft Purview solutions to enable secure collaboration, information protection, and regulatory compliance across Microsoft 365 environments. You will work closely with clients to assess compliance and data risks, define governance and information protection strategies, and ensure alignment with regulatory and organizational requirements.

The contractor will be responsible for delivering end-to-end Purview implementations, including data classification, sensitivity labels, data loss prevention (DLP), insider risk management, eDiscovery, and compliance reporting ensuring solutions are scalable, auditable, and seamlessly integrated into the Microsoft 365 user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Purview Deployment & Configuration: Implement Microsoft Purview solutions to enable enterprise-wide data governance, compliance, and risk management.
  • Security & Compliance Strategy: Define, implement, and enforce policies for data loss prevention (DLP), information protection, and regulatory compliance.
  • Solution Design & Implementation: Architect Microsoft 365 services with a focus on compliance, security, and operational efficiency.
  • Client Engagement: Collaborate with stakeholders to assess compliance needs, deliver tailored governance frameworks, and provide guidance on best practices.
  • Automation & Scripting: Leverage PowerShell and Microsoft Graph to automate compliance tasks and reporting.
  • Incident Response & Monitoring: Configure alerts, audit logs, and compliance dashboards to support proactive risk management and ongoing oversight.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience with Microsoft Purview and Microsoft 365 compliance solutions.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, security, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, ISO).
  • Hands-on experience with DLP, Information Protection, Insider Risk Management, and eDiscovery.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation for compliance management.
  • Familiarity with hybrid and cloud-only Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Availability to work as an external contractor for the duration of the project.
