Athletic Field Maintenance Crew I & II (Two levels dependent on expertise and Class A CDL)

ATHLETIC FIELD MAINTENANCE II

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must hold a valid Texas driver’s license.

2. Must have two (2) years of experience in CFISD grounds department or athletic field maintenance related employment.

3. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

4. Ability to speak, read and understand English.

5. Ability to operate all lawn equipment. (EX: ZTR, reel mowers, line trimmer, blower, etc…)

6. Ability to use all lawn hand tools. (EX: shovels, rakes, etc…)

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

260 days

SALARY/PAYGRADE:

$15.51/HS-5

Salary (based on verifiable job-related experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Mow, edge, and weedeat at football/soccer, baseball, and softball fields.

2. Paint lines at football/soccer, baseball, and softball fields during respective seasons.

3. Maintain long jump pits and shot put areas.

4. Prepare track facilities for track meets.

5. Assist with the installation and/or removal of athletic field turf.

6. Make any needed repairs to athletic fields at high schools and middle schools such as topdressing, cutting out lips on baseball/softball fields, re-crowning football/soccer fields.

7. Apply field conditioner to baseball and softball infield dirt areas.

8. Add or level dirt areas at baseball and softball fields.

9. Monitor irrigation systems on all athletic fields.

10.Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.

ATHLETIC FIELD MAINTENANCE I

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must hold a valid Texas Class A commercial driver’s license.

2. Must have three (3) years of experience in CFISD grounds department or athletic field maintenance related employment.

3. Ability to operate necessary equipment for athletic field maintenance. (EX: tractors, front end loaders, sod cutter, dump trucks, backhoe, box blade, field paint machine, reel mowers, etc…)

4. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

5. Ability to speak, read and understand English.

6. Ability to operate all lawn equipment. (EX: ZTR, line trimmer, blower, etc…)

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

260 days

SALARY/PAYGRADE:

$16.61/HS-6

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Continual walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, and heavy lifting and carrying. Work outside and around moving objects or vehicles. Exposure to extreme temperatures, chemical (herbicides and fertilizer), and loud noises. Frequent district-wide travel.
