METALS II
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High School Diploma or GED required.
2. Must have clear and acceptable driving record as determined by the Texas School Bus Driver’s requirements.
3. Ability to speak, read and understand the English language.
4. Minimum of two (2) years skilled trade experience preferred.
5. Welding experience preferred.
6. Ability to use hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
7. Ability to assist in making repairs to bleachers, roll up gates, dust collectors, air compressors and basketball goals.
8. Knowledge of or ability to learn proper repair and maintenance of different styles and brands of lockers such as List Superior, Republic, Medart and Penco Make.
9. Ability to setup and work on scaffolds and ladders at various heights.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
260 days
SALARY/PAYGRADE:
$16.28/HS6
Salary (based on verifiable job-related experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Perform assigned tasks professionally and promptly.
2. Cooperate and assist other trades as needed.
3. Understand and apply written and oral instructions.
4. Complete tasks with the proper written records and documentation as requested by the department.
5. Maintain quality standards as set by the district.
6. Adhere to safety standards in all areas.
7. Attend training sessions as assigned.
8. Trouble shoot and repair lockers based on style and manufacturer of locker.
9. Perform preventative maintenance on lockers.
10.Accurately estimate materials lists for jobs.
11.Order locker parts from vendors.
12.Set up, use, and calculate with a leveling instrument.
13.Regular, reliable, and prompt attendance is an essential job function.
14.Perform other duties as assigned by the foremen, other supervisors and/or the Director of Maintenance.
METALS I
QUALIFICATIONS:

4. Minimum of four (4) years skilled trade experience required.
5. Excellent welding and fabricating skills.
6. Excellent working knowledge of different manufactured locker systems.
7. Able to teach accrued knowledge and skills to fellow employees in a professional manner.
8. Ability to repair and maintain bleachers, basketball goals, air compressors and dust collector systems.
9. Skilled at the following welding process:
a. Stick
b. Mig
c. Tig
d. Flux Core
e. Brazing
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
260 days
SALARY/PAYGRADE:
$19.50/HS8
Salary (based on verifiable job-related experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Perform all responsibilities of Metals II.
2. Weld with aluminum, galvanized, stainless steel and carbon steel.
3. Estimate jobs and make detailed drawings.
4. Inspect jobs performed by outside contractors on warranty repairs.
5. Repair, maintain, and document maintenance of:
a. Bleachers
b. Roll up gates
c. Dust collectors
d. Air compressors
e. Basketball goals and backboards
6. Regular, reliable, and prompt attendance is an essential job function.
7. Perform other duties as assigned by the foremen, other supervisors and/or the Director of Maintenance.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors (All Levels):
Must be able to lift and carry 75 pounds.
Be available to work different schedules or shifts to accomplish tasks.
Be available for after hour demands, subject to 24 hour responsibility.
Maintain emotional control under stress.
Ability to work alone.
Ability to keep information confidential.
Able to work either indoors or outdoors in various temperature and weather conditions.
