You lead new business opportunities in right store opportunities in white space retail environments. You use your deep understanding of our categories and brands to sell to new customers and to expand current customers’ portfolios. In this role, you develop promotional pricing structures to fit with customer needs.

How you will contribute

You will:

  • Responsible for developing and successfully implementing the commercial plan strengthen and expand Mondelēz International’s position with and assigned customer by preparing, negotiating and executing the business plans
  • Responsible for the coordination between the customer and Mondelēz International internal functions
  • Accountable for maintaining and developing strategic growth plans for customers with a focus on portfolio management, listings, distribution and effective promotion and visibility
  • Build and develop strong category partnerships
  • Manage pricing within the Gross to Net Framework, Assortment management, Forecast accuracy in conjunction with supply chain function
  • Together with cross functional colleagues evaluate, plan & execute appropriate promotional and in store visibility
  • Monitor, analyze and report on market developments and competitor developments

What you need to know about this position:

The Away From Home (AFH) Channel Manager is responsible for developing and executing commercial strategies within the AFH channel (e.g., foodservice, hospitality, convenience stores) to drive revenue growth and market share for our products. This role involves managing relationships with key distributors and operators, identifying new business opportunities, and implementing marketing and sales programs tailored to the unique needs of the AFH channel.

  • Channel Strategy & Execution:
  • Develop and implement annual commercial plans for the assigned AFH segment, aligned with overall company objectives.
  • Identify growth opportunities within the AFH channel through market analysis, competitive assessments, and customer insights.
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop channel-specific promotions, programs, and materials.
  • Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key distributors, buying groups, and large operators within the AFH channel.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with key partners to track performance, identify opportunities, and address challenges.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with AFH customers, ensuring mutually beneficial terms.
  • Sales & Business Development:
  • Achieve or exceed sales targets within the assigned AFH segment.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities by prospecting and developing relationships with potential customers.
  • Manage and support distributor sales teams to drive product distribution and sales execution.
  • Marketing & Promotion:
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop and execute channel-specific marketing programs, promotions, and events.
  • Ensure effective communication of marketing initiatives to distributors and operators.
  • Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of marketing programs, making adjustments as needed.
  • Financial Management:
  • Manage the AFH channel budget for assigned area of responsibility.
  • Track and analyze sales data, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Monitor and control expenses to ensure profitability.
  • Reporting & Analysis:
  • Provide regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and competitive activity.
  • Analyze data to identify key insights and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Collaboration:
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, supply chain, finance, and customer service.
  • Share best practices and insights with other AFH team members.

Education / Certifications:

Bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, or a related field.

Job specific requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sales or commercial roles within the food and beverage industry, with a focus on the Away From Home channel ideally
  • Strong understanding of the AFH market dynamics, including distribution channels, operator segments, and competitive landscape.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and developing successful commercial programs.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
