Overview

Chenega Security International has an immediate opening for a Systems Engineer- ESS. The Systems Engineer ESS will provide full lifecycle systems engineering for the Pentagon Force Protection Agency (PFPA) Electronic Security Systems (ESS) to include Closed Circuit IP-based Video Surveillance Systems (primary responsibility) and Access Control and Intrusion Detection; Identity Management; and Physical Security Information Management Systems.

Responsibilities

What You'll Get To Do:

  • Manage and maintain daily operations associated with video surveillance systems (VSS), including cameras, storage, applications, and appurtenances.
  • Review and approve provided software updates and coordinate scheduled and unscheduled outages of VSS assets across the National Capital Region.
  • Troubleshoot system/sensor issues, issue tickets to OGC, and oversee timely repair by the OGC within their contractual Service Level Agreements.
  • Plan and execute assigned VSS/ESS projects in accordance with planned activity.
  • Establish and maintain Video Surveillance Program Management Plan.
  • Track, report, and analyze assigned projects, providing updates and relevant Project updates in Significant Activity Report (SAR) and other applicable venues.
  • Plan, survey, and report on assigned taskings.
  • Collaborate and liaison with Joint Service Provider, other IT providers, and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in scheduled updates of the Integrated Security Master Plan as assigned.
  • Perform weekly Operational Readiness Testing of all Video Surveillance assets, reporting and correcting deficiencies through the appropriate venue.
  • Participate in ~5-10 weekly meetings to discuss ongoing project progress.
  • Document current state business problems and business processes.
  • Analyze and assess for opportunities to streamline and improve.

Qualifications

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Fifteen years of experience with managing large-scale IP-based video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection, identity management, or other similar types of electronic security systems; or
  • Ten years of similar experience with a bachelor’s degree in related field; or
  • Seven years of similar experience with a graduate degree in a technical field.
  • Certification in Bosch Video Management System.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of video management, intrusion detection, and access control systems.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge and/or certification of AMAG Symmetry or Software House CCURE desired
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications and programs.
  • Excellent writing and speaking skills are essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate via written and oral means effectively.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking capability.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electronic security systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a combined industry/government group.
