Grab's Digital & Performance Marketing Team consists of digital experts and passionate marketers. They lead both traditional and strategic dynamic device buying channels to grow market reach and re-engage users. They use internal user operation levers and traffic management products to enhance user acquisition efficiency and increase channel efficiency.

Get to Know the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Manager, Media Marketing to join our team in Malaysia. This pivotal role is responsible for overseeing media marketing initiatives for both the Malaysia and Singapore markets, driving brand awareness and engagement through innovative campaigns.

You will act as a strategic bridge, translating high-level business priorities into actionable, robust media pillars across our five key verticals: Food, Transport, Mart, Omnicommerce, and Brand.

You will report to Paid Media Lead and be based onsite at Petaling Jaya office.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

Strategic Leadership & Planning

  • Develop and implement comprehensive media marketing strategies for Malaysia and Singapore, ensuring a unified approach to reduce fragmentation and operational friction.
  • Analyze market trends and consumer behavior to inform marketing decisions and strategy.
  • Translate business goals into addressable media solutions, ensuring integrated online and offline media strategies.
  • Move beyond Business-As-Usual (BAU) execution by driving new media initiatives and alpha/beta-testing channels to keep the brand ahead of the curve.

Financial Stewardship & Optimization

  • Manage budgets and allocate resources effectively across various marketing channels.
  • Expertly manage the Media Mix (Digital & Offline) to maximize spend efficiency.
  • Implement rigorous use of attribution models to safeguard investment and ensure every dollar drives quality reach, views, and efficiency targets.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, making data-driven optimizations to ensure ROI.

Stakeholder & Partner Management

  • Establish and maintain relationships with key media partners and vendors.
  • Shape high-stakes negotiations and Joint Business Plans (JBPs) with top-tier partners (e.g., Google, Meta, TikTok) and agencies to secure long-term strategic value.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent brand messaging across all platforms.

Team Management & Mentorship

  • Lead a team of marketing professionals, providing guidance and mentorship to achieve departmental goals.
  • Foster team growth by shifting the culture from an execution-focus to a strategy-focus, upskilling the team to navigate complex media landscapes.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a leader who can deliver on three critical pillars:

  1. Media Stewardship: You go beyond tactical execution. You understand how to optimize media mix and utilize attribution models to safeguard investments.
  2. Strategic Alignment: You act as a "translation layer" between business priorities and media execution, ensuring that high-level goals result in effective campaigns.
  3. Operational Leadership: You are capable of standardizing strategies across markets to drive efficiency while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in media marketing, specifically in managing budgets and strategies across multiple markets (Malaysia and Singapore experience is highly valued).
  • Strong understanding of both Digital and Offline media mix.
  • Experience in negotiating long term plans with major media platforms and managing agency relationships.
  • Ability to analyze data, market trends, and attribution models to drive decision-making.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in mentoring teams and driving strategic growth.
  • Passion for staying up-to-date with the latest marketing technologies and industry best practices.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field; MBA or master's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in media marketing or a related field
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing campaigns in Malaysia and Singapore
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing platforms, social media management, and marketing analytics tools
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Proficiency in budgeting and financial planning for marketing activities
  • In-depth knowledge of Malaysian and Singaporean media landscapes
  • Strong understanding of local consumer behavior and market trends in both countries
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in Malay, Chinese, or other local languages is a plus
