We’re creating a new Search Platform Squad within our Core Platform organization to build a first-class Search Architecture that supports dynamic product growth. Search Platform defines the standards and owns the search framework to help our engineering squads build high-quality, performant search experiences.
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Search Platform Squad, you’ll work on the foundations that make our search fast, relevant, observable and reliable at scale. You’ll design and build services, pipelines, and tooling that support the full search lifecycle – from data ingestion and indexing through query execution, relevance tuning, and experimentation.
You’ll join a small and senior squad focused on cross-cutting search concerns, working closely with Product Platform teams, IAM, DevOps, and SRE. We value clear ownership, pragmatic engineering, and iterating in small, safe steps. You’ll have room to shape our long-term search strategy while shipping meaningful improvements.
???? Our primary technology stack at HCP is Ruby. To be effective in this role, you’ll need to learn it. We offer support in the learning process, tailored to your needs and any prior experience with Ruby. This may include mentoring from our experienced engineering team or access to a paid online course that you can complete during working hours as part of your onboarding. The exact form of support will be agreed upon based on insights from your selection process.
